back to topWhat happens if I go into a tunnel and lose my mobile signal?
Marketmaker Mobile will detect if your phone's signal has been lost and display a connection status screen. Once a signal returns, Marketmaker Mobile will automatically attempt to re-connect.
back to topWhat happens if I lose my connection when I am in the middle of a trade?
Just as with desktop Marketmaker, a trade may not reach NatWest Index’s servers if your network connection is lost at an inappropriate time. If the order can be transmitted to NatWest Index the phone will display an accurate order status screen upon reconnection. If the order cannot be transmitted, the phone will continue to display the order placement screen upon reconnection. As with desktop Marketmaker, you should consult your All Orders blotter to determine the status of any order.
back to topWill trading on Marketmaker Mobile be expensive?
There is no extra charge for using Marketmaker on your mobile - all you need to pay for are the standard networking costs to your mobile network operator. In our preliminary trials, we found the average GPRS data usage to be about 150K bytes per hour. Depending on trading patterns and market volatility, you should expect this figure to vary, perhaps by double this amount, or more. As a guideline, 150K bytes per hour on a standard Vodafone tariff of 2.35 per MB equates to around 35p per hour. It is worth noting that most operators offer far better deals with bundled data packages.
